Verotec have recently designed and manufactured over 500 special enclosures & front panel sets for a mass spectrometer application.
Based on the KM6-HD subrack, the improved unit replaces an old 3rd party product and comprises a 6U/32HP RFI screened card area to house the suite of instrument control PCBs with an adjoining I/O connector panel – a monolithic backplane spans both elements.
As well as overall cost, a number of environmental factors including EMC, shock & vibration, cooling & weight needed to be considered during the design phase. Deliveries were made, on time, over an 18 month period.
