CompactPCI is an industrial computing architecture that utilises a 2mm metric interconnect and adopts the rugged Eurocard mechanical form factor. Whilst maintaining the traditional PCI bus, it supports a number of other technologies (ethernet, hot swap etc.) and crucially offers additional user I/O which makes it useful for many machine applications.
Verotec can design & manufacture both standard and customized CompactPCI backplanes, which is exactly what we did for Coborn Engineering, a leading manufacturer of diamond cutting & polishing machines. The 3U, 8 Slot design incorporates a 32Bit PCI bus, P47 power interface connector and custom tracking for the various I/O devices.
